Asthma

Asthma (from the Greek ἅσθμα, ásthma, "panting") is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by variable and recurring symptoms, reversible airflow obstruction and bronchospasm. Common symptoms include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. An asthma attack can occur when the patient is exposed to triggers such as allergens or irritants, during a cold or in response to heavy exercise. The severity of the symptoms differs per patient, varying from moderate to life-threatening cases.

Asthma is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
Allergies are often the underlying factor.
Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can help resolve this problem.
